Sail Away: Silversea’s Silver Spirit Royal Suite
After enjoying several nights in a onboard the Silver Spirit in a Silver Suite, an opportunity arose to upgrade to the Royal Suite, and we grabbed it! Just couldn’t resist the additional space and added luxury of a stay in one of the Silver Spirit’s top suites.
With 990 square feet it comes with 240 more square feet than the
Silver Suite. Larger living room, an additional half bath, large wet bar area and desk area, and extra special attention are its attributes. These top suites also come with additional amenities including two hours of satellite telephone calls worldwide, complimentary laundry and dry cleaning, unlimited Wi-Fi per guest, afternoon canapés, and a complimentary dinner for two in Le Champagne. A stay in a true 1-bedroom suite with the option of a connecting Veranda Suite to make a 2-bedroom suite is a great way to travel, particularly with so many sea days on this transatlantic cruise.
Two caveats: the veranda is a bit small for the size of the suite although large enough; and from the bedroom window is a view of a crew-access-only area of the bow, but not enough to detract from the beauty of the suite (and be prepared to be awakened when the ship docks since you are right next to the anchor). To solve both of these issues go for the Grand Suite which is exactly the same but with a massive balcony wrapping the bow of ship.
